Good Coffee Shops in Porto

After my fresh coffee dry spell in Quarteira, I was curious to see what Porto had to offer.  Given that Fabrica Coffee Roasters in Lisbon had set the bar pretty high, I was a little concerned since I was dealing with the Portuguese passion for bitter, old, cheap coffee (like most Europeans).

After some exploration I can say that Porto….. was….. ok.  There was no amazing coffee like what I found in Lisbon, but it was acceptable and somewhat tasty.

Bop Cafe

Ok, I think I didn’t order the best coffee – too milky.  Maybe it was a language thing.  This place was made for hipsters.  The food is really good though. Good vegetarian options.

Mesa 325

The coffee was quite good here.  They have some nice cafe food too.  I tried one of their salads. Again, it was a funky cafe… really nice.

Moustache

This was my favourite, and it had nothing to do with their banoffee pie.  The coffee (flat white) was good enough to warrant a return visit.

A funky 2 storey place, with heaps of seating.  They also host various meetups and mini, informal, get-togethers here.

There might be some others in Porto, some undiscovered gems, and I would love to hear about them.
